Fund Raising Campaign Launched to Extend Rural Training

Our first rural project to recruit women from the more remote areas of Uganda for our training courses was a huge success. The project was made possible by funding from the Canning Trust and we are very grateful to them for their support.

After several months delay due to COVID restrictions, Vicky, Farida, Bridget, Sarah and Eseza completed their training in fashion design and entrepreneurship at the Namasuba College of Commerce in April 2021. They are all now back in their villages in Eastern Uganda and have set up their own small businesses. Before they started their training they were all struggling to make ends meet and to feed their families. Now they hope to establish their businesses and significantly improve their lives and those of their children.

The pilot project was so successful that we are planning to extend it and will soon be starting the recruitment process.
We have already secured some funding and are grateful once again to the Canning Trust for their further support, but we would really like to increase the number of women we recruit from the rural areas of Uganda because that is where the need is greatest.

We have launched a fundraising campaign on our Justgiving page, any donation large or small will be very welcome!
